48 Hours has come and gone. "Shock and Awe" has not worked. At the rate Bush is spending money on missiles, that $80 billion he just asked Congress for will be spent in just over a week. Saddam is still in place. This is Somalia, all over again. And the problem is that Bush KNEW this was going to happen. Last September's Iraq war games were a warning. The commanding officer assigned to play Saddam won every battle until he was ORDERED to do things to let the "Americans" win, whereupon he quit in disgust. Other top military experts predicted that Saddam would abandon the open deserts and lure the Americans into urban areas where Guerilla tactics would prove effective. And this is what has happened.

George W. Bush, who has never served in combat, has proven he is a terrible military commander. His ideas of what was going to happen in Iraq have proven false. Shock and Awe did not work. The Iraqi people did not welcome their "liberators" with open arms. They are not surrendering in the numbers that were predicted, claimed, then retracted. America's sons and daughters are being captured and killed. And as they get into the cities, it will get worse. For all the billions spent and lives lost, Bush has ownership of a lot of sand and little else. And America has lost the respect of the rest of the world in the process.

fdd, like i said its only a 100 hours old, wait till you see those daisy cutters fall on the republican guard then watch the libs howl because we killed the mass murderers before looking more closely at their childhood.

>Shock and Awe has NOT worked!

Since many of you Liberals have defended Iraqis tactics with "all's fair in love and war" and seeing you guys believe Shock and Awe isnt working than "we" have a new plan...

SHAKE AND BAKE

I guess i tried to make that point with my vietnam post..That fxckin thing lasted 8 or 9 years, that lasted more years than this has days, and people sre already calling it a failure.
There still have been more people killed in a barroom in 1 night Rhode Island than this war.

Oh REALLY??? Shock and awe, Saddam's dead, they're about to surrender... now it's clear that we won't just walk in like they said we would and as the Americans get closer to Baghdad the body bags will be returning by the hundreds... or thousands.

Could be wrong, but don't remember any statement by anyone of authority saying that this was gonna be easy.In fact after the first 2 days they were all saying there was alot more to do,and that the situation was still very dangerous.

Judge,
You're correct. I think the media is at fault to presenting the war as a "cake-walk".

I see your point, but I think when the g'vmt said "going well" they didn't mean that war was like Disney World, I think they meant (and should have said) "going as expected".

Just my $.02
